When my husband resubscribed to our local paper, they gave us a free 15 word ad. He said it was OK if I used it to place an ad saying I wanted to buy AG items. I got one call from a lady who was willing to sell some of her daughter's Kirsten items. She didn't really know much about the items or what was included in each outfit, as she said on the phone she had Kirsten's school dress (one of the items I was looking for) and would bring that and the birthday dress along. Well when she came over to my house, it turned out the "school dress" was actually Kirsten's "Meet" dress. She did have the birthday outfit and wreath but in the baggie she also had some ruffle edged socks I didn't recognize (I gave those back to her) and some brown boots I also didn't recognize, but kept because she said she would include them.
I took a pic in hopes someone here can help me. I usually can recognize any historical item at a glance but maybe this is an AGoT boot set? Or maybe it's from a historical doll I don't have.

As an aside, I felt really bad about buying the birthday outfit because she said her daughter said not to sell any of her doll stuff. I said, "Is it OK if I buy this then?" and she said, "Oh yeah, she has so much doll stuff." Her daughter was a teen and she said her daughter had grown out of AG, but apparently her daughter still wanted to keep the items, which I understand completely of course. But she was at my house already when she said that and I'd have felt weird saying, "Well, I can't buy it then," but then again I felt so bad buying it. She said she was going to have an AG garage sale for all these items and I just felt so bad about that; I hope her daughter intervenes before it happens if she truly wants to keep the items. The apron has some light stains on it; what's everyone's best recommendation for taking care of those? Oxi-Clean?

I can't tell for sure, but they may be the boots to the retired AGT Camping/Hiking outfit--I checked Curt's site, but there isn't a close-up of the outfit available. Maybe someone with an older catalog can tell for certain.

I think the retired hiking set had blue trim. These look like they're from the retired Riding outfit.

Thanks guys! I looked up an ebay auction for the blue ribbon riding outfit that showed a close up of the boots, and they match.

I have a 1998 catalog and just looked up both those outfits. The hiking boots have a blue top.
Your boots are definitely from the riding set.

I just received a boot order a little over a week ago. I got Josefina's riding boots, Kirsten's red boots and Kit's boots. Those are exactly what they sent me for Kit's boots, and they have the old Today girl with her arms spread imprinted on the bottom.

I just got Kit's boots last week, and though they are the same color, they are different from these. Kit's boots only have 3 grommets to lace through, and not the hooks that these have on the top, but yes, Kit's boots DO have the AGOT symbol on the bottom. It is the same sole mold used for the black "Doc Marten" boots from the Red Vinyl Jumper and Grey Jumper Outfits. We all know how AG likes to recycle!
Here is a link to Kit's boots so you can see the difference:
